Hight Tea with Short Ladies

Hight Tea with Short Ladies

A couple of weeks ago, I invited a friend and her two little girls over for Friday Tea and cake. We had such a lovely time together and these afternoons remind me so much of my friends back in Dubai (and Australia). Those who know me, know that when I entertain, I tend to go a little overboard with the catering. And every single item on offer is always prepared by me, with love! I enjoy baking and cooking so much, that when I think of making a business out of it, I cringe – not because I will be doing what I love, but because what I love doing will become a job, a chore and it will no longer bring me any joy. I have had offers from people who had tested my baking products and wanted to fund my start-up baking business. But after careful thinking, I...

Reason, Season, or Lifetime

I know it has been a while since I’ve put up any new posts: Last week I was preparing for my A1 German Language exam, which I am very happy to say I aced – now only two more big Exams to go!!! And I celebrated by going away for the weekend with hubby and our friends and their two little girls. We visited the Movie Park in Germany and tons of fun was had. But then we got home and I have not been feeling well since. Having said that, I am now back (not at full strength just yet), but back nonetheless. And I wanted to share something with you that has been on my mind for a long while now… I have been blessed to have lived in and visit many amazing cities. And I have been doubly blessed by meeting some awesome people on my travels. Some of these...

Visiting the Taj Mahal

Visiting the Taj Mahal

About a year ago, I was invited to a traditional Indian Wedding in India. I was both excited and scared at the same time. Excited because I had never been to an Indian Wedding and I had never worn a Saree before. And scared because it was in New Delhi and my husband had had a bad experience in Mumbai when he visited a few years before, so going to India was not exactly high on his travel list. In any case, he couldn’t go anyway due to work obligations, so my best friend and I went for the nearly week long celebrations!!! It was epic! I was amazed, my eyes opened to a world I had only experience watching Bollywood movies and my anxiety about being in New Delhi quickly dissipated. The family who hosted us were just amazing and so down-to-earth (again, my idea...

Our Mother

Our Mother

Our mum is patient but will tell you like it is, She is kind but don’t you mess with her kids or grandkids, She has a soft heart and cares for those around her, She shows strength…when many would show weakness, She shows love…even when you don’t deserve it, She’s our Inspiration! She’s our Mummu! And we love her! Written by Lady G on behalf of all three of Sharon’s amazing daughters: Mother’s Day is by far one of the most difficult “not-quite-a-holiday” Holiday for me. I have not spent a Mother’s Day with my mother for over 6 years due to the fact that I was always travelling or living in another city. And I often find myself quite jealous of both my sisters for living so close to her (Becks still...

These are a few of my Favorite Things

These are a few of my Favorite Things

I love the 1959 Musical by Rogers and Hammerstein: The Sound of Music. It is one of my all-time favorite movies. Not only because I love the story, but the music tickles my heartstrings every time I listen to it. Of course my favorite song in the movie would have to be: Sixteen Going on Seventeen. I loved it the first time I heard it being sung in the 1965 movie and I still do. There is however one other song from the musical that is extremely popular – so much so, that it is also a Christmas favorite: My Favorite Things. We all have them. Some Favorite Things we would not dare speak out loud and then there are other Favorite Things that we quite literally squeeze into every conversation we have – even with strangers or people we are being introduced...
