Friendships

I have been fortunate to have met some amazing people in my shot time on earth. Some have come and gone, others have made a big impact in my life. While a select few have become my closest and best mates. It never mattered where you came from and what your circumstances were or are. I enjoyed getting to know people from all walks of life, different nationalities, single, married, crazy, reserved. My life has been changed forever because of the impact you have all had on my life so far – you know who you are. Where is home

One year ago today I embarked on a new adventure. I got on a plane from Dubai and 7 hours later found myself in Düsseldorf, Germany. The journey started off as all journeys to new and unexplored territories start off: feelings of nervousness, being overwhelmed, culture-shock, language limitations. Advent starts on the fourth Sunday before December 25, which is the Sunday between November 27 and December 3 inclusive. There are many different traditions for Advent and the most common German...

Heading into the Holidays

Heading into the Holidays

So the Holiday Season is going to arrive very soon and I get super excited about this time of year. It’s gets super cold and Hot Chocolate is the drink of the Season. Cuddles on the couch under a warm blanket and perhaps a good book to help wash away the winter blues. We do not celebrate Thanksgiving here, but I do enjoy seeing photos of my America friends celebrating and enjoying Thanksgiving with their loved ones. And straight after Thanksgiving, we head into the Christmas Season – my favourite time of year and there is just 50 Days left till Christmas Eve – which is when Christmas is really celebrated in Germany. Over the next 7 weeks I will be posting about all things Christmas: Decor, Recipes, Gifts, you name it. I am already planning menus...
