What is currently on my Netflix Recently Watched List

I don’t watch as much tv as I should. Ha! Bet you weren’t expecting that sentence! Seriously though, there are some really good shows out there. And Netflix, I must say has really surprised me with the quality of tv series they are dishing out. I know, however that I am also a little behind with ‘what’s hot and what’s not’, meaning that I am only now on Season 8 of Supernatural. I know! Shock and Horror, right? But your priorities change…with time – I bet you were thought I was going to say “with having a baby”! And yes, back in the day I could do a 24 rerun in about 8 days. And that was with loads of coffee and junk food. These days, I can maybe make an episode of an ‘ok’ tv show. Then there...

Week 7: The Last Bad Day I Had

Week 7: The Last Bad Day I Had

We’ve all had them: and there are varying degrees of them too: Bad Days. And most of the time I can get through them with a bit of quiet time and a cup of rooibos tea. But then there are those rare ones, like the one I had about a month ago, where I literally am brimming with frustration and anxiety. I can’t remember the last time I had one of these, and I will admit that I certainly didn’t play nice at the end of that day. It was Thursday and the little Mouse was home for the second day in a row. Now usually, I can get through 1 full day. But this was Day 2. I had not showered since the Tuesday, my hair was a tangled mess which I swooped up into a lose bun. I had not vacuumed since Monday, so there were “Frozen Snowflakes and Snowball...

Pushing Mommy Away

Pushing Mommy Away

I recently read an article that really spoke to  me. And I think that a lot of parents go through this, but not too many want to get to the root of why this is happening. And I ask myself on a daily basis what I am doing wrong, or what I could do better. But in the end, I think we all are just doing what we can to the best of our abilities. So here’s my story… My little Angel, my baby girl and the cutest bundle of joy I could have asked for, recently turned 2. And even though we had already started going through the motions of the famed “Terrible Twos” since she was about 22 months, and we thought we figured out how to get through those times, boy were we in for a rude awakening. Or at least I was, my husband is usually at work or sleeping...

YouTube Channels I subscribe to

YouTube Channels I subscribe to

So last week I wrote about Blogs that I have found and I keep going back to read in my ‘very limited’ spare time. This week I want to switch things up a bit and tell you about a few YouTube Channels I have subscribed to and that I frequently (here meaning once every 2 weeks :p ) visit. Yes there seems to be a theme here: How to Cake It – this is by far my most visited channel. I super heart this girl. Yolanda brings her own fresh energy to a Baking Channel. She creates and bakes and makes novelty cakes and is just super awesome. If you want to see her make a Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner that’s completely made of cake, or perhaps you want to know what is meant by a Mega Cake, head on over to her channel, hit the subscribe button and go check...

My Top 10 Movies of ALL TIME

My Top 10 Movies of ALL TIME

So, those who know me, and I mean really know me (Becky, I’m talking to you), know I am a sucker for a good movie. But I have weird taste in entertainment at times and (sometimes) my taste varies – it sort of changes with the gravitation pull of the moon :p In my 25 years or so of actually watching tv, I have gone through the Horror Phase; the Rom-Com phase; the Gangster-movie phase; there was also the short-lived and (dare I say) forced-upon-me-Religious-Movie phase. However, pre-baby I was open to watching most genres – yes, even the Expendables. So without further blubbering, here is my Top 10 Movies of ALL TIME list – in order of release date: Casablanca – 1942 The Sound of Music – 1965 The Lion King – 1994 Titanic...
